PUNE: Former Test cricketer
VVS Laxman on Sunday said
Zaheer Khan looked set to return to the Indian squad and spearhead the bowling attack.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the bowler's restaurant in the city, Laxman said, "After the fitness training Zaheer has taken in France, he seems fit and agile enough to lead the Indian bowling attack."
Both Zaheer and
Yuvraj Singh had been to France for a six-week fitness training programme.
Speaking about life after retiring from cricket, Laxman called it a "second innings". "I had performed better in the second innings of my cricketing career. Now, too, I am enjoying my second innings post-retirement. I have been giving a lot of time to my family, which was not possible earlier. It is a pretty relaxed life," he said.
